You're a pirate crew on the open seas. The depths below hold a behemoth known as the Kraken. Treacheries lie in wait for you as you traverse the waters to find glory...or your demise. This is Sail, a cooperative Trick-Taking game for two.

There are many people who don't enjoy the back and forth of Trick-Taking. There is a rhythm unspoken between the players as you become more aware of what is and isn't viable to play. That's okay, you don't have to like it. I do feel however that maybe you haven't found the one that really suits you.

I didn't enjoy Trick-Taking until I played Claim. I didn't get the back and forth. I didn't understand why of it all. Once Claim finally made it click we were trying every trick-taker we could find!

Sail switches this up in a lovely way. Your winning tricks to move a boat forward along a treacherous path in the ocean. You need to match symbols without speaking in order to hopefully make it to the destination. It's tense and full of "One more game?" moments as you start to sync together what needs to be done to win! The art by Santiago brings life and character to the untold tales of these pirates in his signature style.

Sail is a wonderful example of how versatile the Trick-Taking mechanic is and why it's been around for so long. It's an absolute gem of a game and one of the few 2 great player only co-ops out there.
