Last month a game on the shelf at my local game store oddly caught my eye. The otherworldly box art mixed with BLOODBATH written in a dripping font on the cover reeled me in. Now 20 plays later I must say...this one's a keeper.

Moon Colony Bloodbath is an engine-building/engine destroying/sort of group deck-builder/survival game from the mind of the creator who brought us Dominion. Oh, and what a wild ride it is!
~~~
The humour and simplicity really make this game super accessible to a wide range of people and it's a system that feels ripe for expansions (which I have no doubt will be coming down the line)
~~~
Every round a card will be drawn from the progress deck and simultaneously, everyone, will do what it says. Simple. You'll be building up buildings to house more people, gather food, gain money, life is good! Until it's not...
~~~
Eventually robots malfunction and start killing your colony! Your engine you've built quickly crumbles and you will scramble to keep it afloat. It's designed this way and it's so fun to see what you can do to prolong your stay on the moon.
~~~
Hilarious moments ensue around the table as people add to the progress deck messing up what was once working for your engine. Choices to keep or lose things is a blast. Robots keep being added to the deck wrecking everyone's lives. Make it to the instruction manual at the end of the event deck and whomever has the most people left wins! But you most likely won't make it that far 💀 It's. Pure. Fun.
~~~
This is for sure in our top 10 games for the year and I'm so excited to see what amazing memories come from it! Make it to the Instruction Manual my friends!
